Brandon Marshall: ‘My Wife Did Not Stab Me'

Dolphins WR maintains his wife's innocence

Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall opened up this week about the alleged domestic dispute which left him hospitalized with a stab wound earlier this year.

Marshall spoke to the media about the incident for the first time since it happened on April 22. He told the Sun-Sentinel that when he spoke to the state attorney's office about the incident last month, "the one thing I made clear was my wife did not stab me."

Marshall did not give any clue as to how he suffered a stab wound in his stomach that evening.

He stressed he could go into much detail since the case is still open, but added, "She didn't assault me. We were having a marital dispute that got heated, but it didn't happen as reported."

Marshall allegedly told officers reporting to his house that evening that he slipped and fell on a broken vase. But his wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, allegedly told police she stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife in self-defense, according to initial reports.

Since then, Nogami-Marshall was arrested in June for violating a restraining order.

Marshall, who has fully recovered from the stabbing, has been working out in Boston recently in order to keep a low profile and focus on his offseason training regimen, according to the Sentinel.

Marshall still hopes to reconcile with his wife, telling the Sentinel, "I'm hopeful that we can move forward because I love my wife."
