TV-loving Attorney General Bill McCollum has announce his bid for governor today in his hometown of Orlando.
McCollum, whose cybercrime unit was featured on Oprah and is a source of controversy for the AG, will seek to capture the position being left by Charlie Crist, who is running for Senate.
"The hallmark of a McCollum administration will be access and inclusion," McCollum told a small crowd of supporters.
The Republican McCollum, who spent 20 years in Congress, has been attorney general since 2006. He's caught heat for his high-profile commercials against internet predators, with detractors claiming the taxpayer-funded ads are simply McCollum's clever use of self-promotion.
State CFO Alex Sink became the first major Democrat to join the 2010 governor's race when she announced last week that she was going after Crist's seat.
