An electronic sign that normally welcomes visitors to Miami Beach, had quite a different message on Tuesday.
The sign reads "WELCOME VISTORS ! PROHIBITED." It could be seen eastbound on the Julia Tuttle Causeway.
Twitter user @BillyCorben tweeted the photo on Tuesday.
NBC 6 viewers, who saw the sign, said that it flashed "GLASS STYROFOAM ALCOHOL" after the first message.
UPDATE: Miami Beach officials told NBC 6 that they are in the process of fixing the sign's message.
"We certainly do welcome our visitors and apologize if the message offended anyone," city officials said in a statement.
