Miami Beach Lights It Up Blue for Autism Awareness

April is Autism Awareness Month, and as a sign of solidarity, Miami Beach is lighting it up blue.

The Light It Up Blue initiative kicks-off Autism Awareness Month with iconic landmarks and venues across the world lit blue from sunset to sunrise through April 30th.

Miami Beach City Manager Jimmy Morales, whose daughter has a form of autism, said in a press release that "by shedding the light on autism, we can work towards improving the future of all those affected."

Through the end of the month, Miami Beach City Hall, Historic City Hall, Pennsylvania Avenue parking garage, North Shore Bandshell, Normandy Fountain, Julia Tuttle and 71 Street welcome entrance signs, and South Pointe Park’s pylon lights will be shining in a blue light.
