Miami Beach Police Searching For Woman Alleged to Have Stolen Thousands From Customers at Area Spas

A woman casually walks in to the Eden Roc hotel on Miami Beach wearing shorts, a tanktop, and a cap - but police say what wasn't caught on camera was the moment she stole items from someone's locker at the spa on July 25th.

Just nine days later, authorities believe the same woman stole more than $50,000 worth of jewelery and cash from a spa locker inside the Faena Hotel.

SOT, rosalia taormina, tourist - "Once you're in a spa, everything is locked up, and you're safe, you are just there to relax," said tourist Rosalia Taormina. "You're not thinking about the stress of someone taking your stuff."

According to an incident report, at Faena she said her name was "Ana Adam" and she scheduled a spa service to gain entrance to the locker area. The report also states the woman paid with three separate Visa gift cards and left prior to fulfilling her spa service.

Detectives say pry marks were visible on the locker door.

A spokesperson for the Faena Hotel released a statement saying "The safety and security of our guests and staff is, as always, our top priority. We are cooperating with the Miami Beach police department and the matter is the hands of the authorities."

Anyone with information on the person involved is asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
