Miami's Ultra Music Festival may have to find a new home after City commissioners voted against a new contract to keep it in Bayfront Park.
Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday against a contract that would have kept the electronic music festival in the park for the next five years.
The annual festival brings hundreds of thousands of people to Downtown Miami but some area residents have complained about the noise and crowds.
Originally a one-day event in Miami Beach, Ultra Music Festival has expanded in size and popularity as it celebrated the 20th edition this past March. It moved back to Bayfront Park in 2012 following six years at Bicentennial Park.
The festival has come under fire in recent years over issues relating to crowd control and arrests, including a security guard being critically injured after a fence collapse during the 2014 event when a large group attempted to enter.
