Miami-Dade Officer Rushed to Hospital After AM Crash on Dolphin Expressway

An early morning crash along a busy Miami-Dade roadway sent at least one officer to the hospital and caused major traffic headaches for drivers.

Crews arrived at the scene along with westbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway before Northwest 87th Avenue in Doral just after 4:30 a.m. with early reports saying both a Miami-Dade Police officer and Florida Highway Patrol trooper were involved in the crash with a total of three victims being involved.

Miami-Dade Police confirmed that their officer, who was working an off-duty job at a nearby construction site on the roadway, was transported to Kendall Regional Medical Center with a possible broken arm. FHP has not confirmed if one of their troopers was hospitalized.

Traffic reopened shortly after 8 a.m. as the investigation continues.
