1 Killed, 2 Injured in Miami-Dade Shooting

An AK-47 was one of the weapons used, police said

One person was fatally shot and two others injured in a shooting in Miami-Dade on Wednesday, police said.

An AK-47 was one of the weapons used in the drive-by shooting near NW 52nd Street and NW 22nd Avenue in Miami, Miami-Dade Police said.

“The street is just littered with AK-47 rounds right now," police spokesman Det. Roy Rutland said. "So we know these men were shot with at least an AK-47 type weapon. We know the kind of damage that does to people."

Police initially said that four people had been shot, but later reduced that to three.

Police also said they discovered at least three other weapons, believed to have belonged to the victims.

Police said the three men were hit while standing around a gold Impala. It was riddled with bullets.

"It was very quick, I spoke with a few witnesses who say it was very fast," Rutland said.

The victims haven't been identified.
