1 Injured After Miami Fire Rescue Truck, Car Collide And Crashed into Building

A City of Miami fire rescue truck and vehicle collided and crashed into a building in Liberty City Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened on Northwest 54th Street and 13th Avenue.

The female driver of the car was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The first responders traveling in the truck were not injured, Miami Fire Rescue said.

The woman, said to be in her 20's, crossed in front of the ambulance as it was heading to a call, according to officials. The rescue truck had its lights and sirens activated as it traveled on 54th Street.

The impact of the crash was so significant, the two vehicles drifted and plowed into a linen business. An awning outside the building and the front metal door were damaged. The car's bumper was found inside the building. There were employees inside at the time; none of them was injured.

The crash is under investigation.
