Four People Detained in Miami Gardens After Two-County Chase

The chase started at Lighthouse Point and ended in Miami Gardens

Four people were being detained for questioning after an hours-long SWAT standoff early Friday, which began with a two-county car chase with suspects in a stolen car.

Two men and two women were detained, but none had been called a suspect yet.

Miami Gardens Police said the chase began in Lighthouse Point and ended in Miami Gardens around 4:55 a.m., when the two men bailed out of the stolen car at 189th Terrace and NW 3rd Ave.

Authorities followed the car by land and air and used canine units to verify the men after they ran around the corner, presumably into a Miami Gardens home once they fled the car.

Once the people inside were detained, authorities started fanning the home.

Miami Gardens Police and the sheriff's office were on the scene and had cordoned off  roads surrounding the home.

Authorities said the car was listed as stolen. Meanwhile, the tag of the car matched the rental car of man who was beaten and robbed and left naked in a parking lot on Thursday.

No other information was immediately available.
