A recent string of shootings over the last week has the Miami Gardens Police Department – as well as the families of those injured or killed in the string of violence – pleading for answers and an end to bullets flying.

Over the last six days, four separate shootings have taken place in the city that included four people in total being shot in two separate incidents Thursday alone. Those shootings followed the killing of a man on Father’s Day and the murder of another man the day before.

The family of that victim, Michael Mathis Jr., spoke Friday in hopes of helping to find the shooter in their case.

So far, people have not made an arrest in any of the cases but say they are engaging the community in an effort to find those involved with the recent crimes.
