Miami Gardens Police Searching for Missing Mother

The Miami Gardens Police Department is searching for 41-year-old Kameela Russell, who has been missing for days.

Russell's family last saw her Wednesday on the 800 block of NW 203rd Street in Miami Gardens, according to police.

MGPD describes Russell as a black female who is five feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. She has brown hair, black hair with purple braids and was last seeing wearing gray leggings, a stripped shirt and sneakers.

Skye Braddy, Kameela's daughter, recalls the last moments she spent with her mother.

"She told me she was going to pick up my sister and then she never came," said Skye.

On Wednesday, Kameela was supposed to pick up her 6-year-old daughter at her aunt's house in Miami Gardens.

"She saw her car out there and then her car was gone in a few minutes," said Linda Russell, Kameela's mother.

Linda says she learned the news while at work.

Kameela's aunt called Linda to tell her that Kameela never picked up her daughter. Her family says it's not like her to not pick up her daughter, and it's not like her to just disappear.

"That's why it's like a mystery. We're all trying to figure out what's going on because we don't know what's going on," said Linda.

The singer mother of two works at Norland Senior High School as a test chair, but never showed up to work on Thursday and Friday.

Her family and friends are now trying to stay positive and stay strong, while holding on to hope that Kameela will come home.

"Everybody's fighting for you" said Skye. "People who I haven't even seen in years are coming out just to try and help you. Your students, we need you. Just come back."

Russell was last seen driving a 2014 black Audi A6 with the tag HBQJ20.
