    Miami is getting high marks in the city's quest to become the home to Amazon's second headquarters.

    A new CNBC report card gives the Magic City a B+, higher than New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., which all received a B-.

    In fact, Miami only trails Austin and Dallas among the 20 finalist cities, according to a video from CNBC's Scott Cohn. The two Texas cities received an A-.

    Cohn cited Miami's low costs, access to transportation, position as a gateway to Latin America and "relatively friendly regulations." Michael Finney, with the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, also touted the city's diverse talent pool in the video.

    Another potential selling point: Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is familiar with the area having attended Miami Palmetto High School.

    A final decision on the company's second headquarters was expected by the end of the year.
