4-year-old Miami Girls With Same ‘Birthday,' ‘Soul' Declare They're Twins

Two 4-year-old best friends, who share the same birthday, were told by classmates that they weren't twins because they don’t have the same skin color. And the outcome has gone viral.

“You don’t know anything, we are twins because we have the same birthday and the same soul,” Jia Sarnicola asserted when her classmates rejected the idea of her being twins with her best friend, Zuri Copeland.

Zuri’s older sister, Victoria Williams, tweeted several photos that detailed the small disagreement, and simultaneously introduced their innocent friendship to the world.

Williams was shocked by explosive response on social media to the adorable pseudo-siblings.

“In a world where racism is still going on, we seem to only hear about the horrors of it,” Williams said. “I felt that people should see a glimpse of hope in Zuri and Jia’s friendship/twinship.”

The tweet has since been shared more than 14,000 times.

Many on social media joined the discussion in support of the girls confirming them to be “twinsies.”

Williams said that their story was even shared by biological twins who actually have different skin tones, which is a very rare but possible occurrence.
