Local groups in South Florida are collecting donations to aid victims of the recent 'Volcano of Fire' eruption.
Guatemalan American Association of Miami
The Guatemalan American Association of Miami said it is gathering item donations.
In a statement, the group said donations of numerous items can be made from Monday until Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at five different Miami locations:
1. Tikal Bakery, located at 1255 NW 1 Street, phone: 305-548-4882.
2. Guatecargo Network, located 1418 NW West Flagler Street, phone: 305-643-9100.
3. Jacalito Taquería #2, located at 33 NW 27th Avenue, phone 786-534-5099.

4. Zuleta Miami, located at 8061 NW 67th Street, phone 305-644-1090.
5. Dorita, located at 20328 NE 16th Place, phone 786-597-0014.
Products the group said are needed are as follows: Canned food or soups, juices, water, masks, antibiotics, disinfectants, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, diapers for babies and adults, medicines for respiratory infections, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, brushes and toothpaste, first aid kits and painkillers.
Greater Miami Jewish Federation
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is collecting funds to "provide critically needed humanitarian aid to disaster victims and their families."
"One hundred percent of all contributions to this fund are being allocated directly to the relief effort," GMJF said in a statement.
Those who wish to make a contribution can visit their website at JewishMiami.org/guatemala or call 305-576-400 ext. 428.
Donation checks with the notation of “Fuego Volcano Relief” can be mailed to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, located at 4200 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33137.
Alfonso Lama Kalfati
A 24-year-old who was born in Guatemala City – about 30 miles from the volcano – who now lives in Miami, Alfonso Lama Kalfati, created a GoFundMe page.
The funds will go to the Guatemalan Red Cross and to Guatemala's Children's Burn Foundation. The page said it will post proof that the funds have been transferred to the organizations.
The page has received more than $80,000 in donations.
At least 75 people have died from the destructive natural disaster in Guatemala.
