Miami Hurricanes Announce Spring Practice Schedule, to Hold Final Scrimmage in Orlando

What to Know

  • The Hurricanes have concluded spring practice at locations across South Florida in recent years, including at Lockhart Stadium.

Fans of the Miami Hurricanes will get a chance to watch the team several times during spring practice – including their final one of camp being held at the same site where they will open the 2019 season.

The program announced their spring schedule on Tuesday, with the first of 15 practices taking place March 19th with two scrimmages scheduled in South Florida – a closed session scheduled for April 6th and a session on April 13th inside Traz Powell Stadium that is open to the public.

The final practice of the spring will be a scrimmage held inside Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Saturday, April 20th – which will also be free to the public.

Miami will be getting an early look at the stadium they will open the upcoming season in as they are scheduled to play the rival Florida Gators there on August 24th – a game that was moved up one week as part of college football’s 150th anniversary season.

The Hurricanes have concluded spring practice at locations across South Florida in recent years, including at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale and the site of their regular season games, Hard Rock Stadium.

It will be the second time in four seasons that Orlando has hosted a spring football finale for one of the state’s powers – as the Florida State Seminoles held their spring game in the stadium in 2016 before also opening the regular season there as well, defeating Ole Miss.
