Arkansas State University and the University of Miami have settled a lawsuit over a football game that was canceled last year because of concerns about Hurricane Irma.

The settlement announced Wednesday calls for Miami to pay ASU $400,000 for canceling the September 2017 game in Jonesboro.

Miami canceled the game because of hurricane-related travel issues in Florida. ASU had offered to play the game a day earlier, fly the Miami team and staff to Memphis, Tennessee, and pay for lodging.

Arkansas State sued Miami in February, seeking $650,000 in damages because the game wasn't rescheduled.

Under the settlement terms, the lawsuit is dismissed and the game will not be rescheduled.

ASU System attorney Brad Phelps called the agreement that was reached under court-ordered mediation "a fair resolution of these issues."
