Miami Man Shot to Death While Babysitting 2-Year-Old

Two people have been arrested after a man was found shot to death in his Miami home while he was babysitting a child, police said.

According to Miami Police, Jorge Fuentes, 28, was found unresponsive inside of his home on the 3000 block of Southwest 11th Street shortly after midnight early Wednesday.

Police said Fuentes was babysitting a 2-year-old child for his live-in girlfriend when he was murdered.

Two men were later arrested in connection with the shooting, police said. They were identified as 23-year-old Jonathan Jimenez and 24-year-old Alexander Porta.

Both were charged with first-degree murder and false imprisonment and were being held without bond Thursday. It was unknown whether they have attorneys.

Neighbors said the couple had lived at the home for just a short while, and that Fuentes worked at a nearby restaurant.

"Wow, incredible. I've been living here for almost fifteen years, never like that nothing has happened, so that was very hard for us to swallow," neighbor Rene Arregui said.

Police said they don’t have a motive for the shooting and are continuing to investigate the homicide.
