Miami Police detectives are working with a 12-year-old girl to find out more about a man they say tried to lure her into his car on the way to school Wednesday.
The incident happened as the girl was walking in the area of 71st Street to the bus stop around 7:30 a.m. with her sisters, who attend Northwestern High School.
After her sisters went inside, the girl kept walking east toward Northwest 7th Avenue when she told police she noticed a black car following her.
The driver reportedly slowed down and asked her if she needed a ride. She ignored him and kept walking - but the driver circled back and then offered her cash to get in his car.
The teen grabbed her phone and called the cops as the man sped off.
At this point, police don’t have much information on the vehicle involved other than it was a black car with tinted windows. A sketch of the suspect was released by police after the girl gave a description of him.
