History was made at the 2016 Rio Olympics as Ashleigh Johnson goes for gold in the Summer Games.
Johnson is the first black woman to ever make the U.S. Olympic Water Polo Team.
She and her teammates defeated Spain 11-4 in the preliminaries Tuesday.

Johnson said she was nervous moments before the tournament but said she was glad her team played well.
"It was really hard to communicate with everybody, but once the nerves settled, I was fully engaged and everyone was working together and it was really fun," Johnson told NBC 6.
After Tuesday's competition, Johnson was embraced by her mother and four siblings who traveled to Rio De Janeiro to watch her Olympic debut.

This Olympic win is groundbreaking for the Miami-born athlete.
Johnson was raised in the Redland by her single immigrant mother from Jamaica.
The superstar goalkeeper's mom, Donna Johnson, said she never thought the sport of Water Polo would have taken her daughter this far.
"We watched the Olympics on TV and now we're here," Johnson's sister, Chelsea added.
Johnson said she's in Rio for one thing -- to defend Team USA's Gold medal from the 2012 London Olympics.
The Women's Water Polo Team faces China on Thursday and Hungary on Saturday.
