Miami's Blue and White Tribute to Mother Teresa

Magic City changes skyline colors for nun's birthday

Miami is lighting up for Mother Teresa Thursday and Friday night, turning its downtown skyline into a blue and white tribute to her birth.

Buildings in downtown will turn their lights to the holy nun's signature colors in memory of her 100th birthday for the two night homage.

Mother Teresa was born on Aug. 26, 1910 in Albania and spent nearly 50 years caring for the sick and poor throughout the world before her death in 1997.

Sites worldwide, from St. Peter's Cathedral in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the USS Intrepid in New York, are also taking part
