Millions in Pot Seized in Operation No Grow

Narcotics officers from the Miami-Dade Police department raided 13 grow houses across the county arresting 11 people along the way in an operation they named, “Operation No Grow.”

Police said the operation consisted of multiple teams simultaneously making the raids across the county. The grow house raid netted six firearms, some of which were stolen, and more than 500 pounds of marijuana confiscated with a street value over $2 million.

Living near a grow house, police said, can be dangerous because power lines are often diverted and dangerous fumes and poor ventilation can cause major problems.

In 2014, Miami-Dade Police said they have dismantled 176 hydroponic labs and made over 209 arrests related to those grow houses.
