Could the Miami Dolphins be considering leaving their long time training facility in Davie for a new home? According to the mayor of another Broward County city, the answer is yes.

Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam sent a message to residents Thursday evening, according to the Miami Herald, saying the team wants to move to the city and calling a May 10th town hall meeting to seek input into the prospects of such a move – calling it a proposed “public/private partnership.”

The Dolphins have leased property on the campus of Nova Southeastern University since the early 1990s, with the team spending millions in recent years to renovate the facility.

The paper reports that a potential move by the team to Miami-Dade County within four years was placed in a bid book by officials for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but nothing has been confirmed by the team.

Currently, the Dolphins house their football operations at the Davie facility - where they moved after spending most of their existence at the campus of St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens – while the business side of the organization is based out of offices at Hard Rock Stadium.
