Shellie Baptiste found safe after she ran away from home Saturday: Police

The 17-year-old girl who had been missing since she ran away from her Miami home Saturday has been found unharmed, police said Monday.

Shellie Baptiste, who had been considered an "endangered runaway," was found safe and unharmed," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Javier Baez said.

Baptiste went missing Saturday from the 1500 block of Northwest 134 Street. She had been outside playing when surveillance footage captured her running down the street in the opposite direction of her home.

Off-Duty Sweetwater Officer Killed in Motorcycle Accident

Police said Baptiste had been considered endangered because she has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old girl.

No details on when or where she was found were given.
