Missing Miami Girls Found Safe in West Palm Beach, Parents Arrested

The two young girls abducted by their non-custodial parents have been found safe, according to Miami Police.

The girls were last seen on Sunday in Miami-Dade at their grandmother's home near Southwest 23rd Street and 27th Avenue.

On Wednesday, the City of Miami Police Special Victims Unit, with assistance from U.S. Marshals, recovered the children in West Palm Beach.

Authorities said the girls, ages 3 and 4, were in good physical health and are now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Their parents, Christy Rezkala and Erlin Martinez, who were with the children at the time, have been arrested and are pending extradition.

Police said Rezkala and Martinez were visiting the girls at their grandmother's home on Sunday, and when she went to sleep, they snatched the girls and took off.

Martinez has a record out of Hillsborough County. According to the arrest report, he was charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
