Mom Arrested After Marijuana Found in Baby Wipes Bag: BSO

A young South Florida mother was arrested after authorities say they found marijuana in her infant's baby wipes bag.

Shannon Yorke, 23, was arrested early Monday on charges of child neglect, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in Oakland Park, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Yorke remained behind bars without bond Tuesday and it was unknown if she's hired an attorney.

According to an arrest report, Yorke was pulled over in the area of W. Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95, and a deputy smelled an odor of marijuana coming from her car.

Yorke's 8-month-old son was in the car, and when the deputy searched a baby bag, he found the container of wipes. Inside the wipes was a baggie containing about 2.5 grams of marijuana, the report said.

The baby was released into the custody of Yorke's mother, the report said.
