A mother was arrested after police said she left her 3-year-old daughter alone in a car for hours while she worked in a Lauderhill strip club.
Manouchika Daniels, 23, was arrested Wednesday on a count of child neglect without great bodily harm after her daughter was found in the parking lot of Vegas Cabaret on N. University Drive, Lauderhill Police said.
Police said they received a 911 call shortly before 2 a.m. of a girl crying and roaming the parking lot, and when officers arrived the girl appeared to be confused and had no adult supervision.
The girl led officers to a car that was not running and had the back window cracked for ventilation. In the back of the car were toys and a car seat. Police said about 30 or 40 minutes later, Daniels approached officers and identified herself as the girl's mother and owner of the car.
Detectives said Daniels left the girl in the car around 11 p.m. Tuesday, while she worked inside Vegas Cabaret.
An arrest report said the girl "appeared to be well cared for and in good spirits." Child Protective Services assumed responsibility of the child.
Daniels was arrested and booked into jail, where she was being held on $5,000 bond, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
