More Horses Seized From Miami Gardens Ranch

The ranch was located at 5400 NW 159th Street.

Miami Gardens Police were seizing horses from a ranch were two horses had been found nailed and starving inside their stalls, animal advocates said Wednesday.

The ranch was located at 5400 NW 159th Street. Police said one person was arrested in connection to the incident.

South Florida SPCA was also responding to the scene.

“Despite having over 65 rescued horses in already in our care, we will make room for more victims of this horrible abuse and egregious neglect,”  Jeanette Jordan, president of the South Florida SPCA, said in an email statement.

On Sunday, two starving and abused horses were rescued from the facility in Miami Gardens. One of the horses, Susie, continues to struggle for her life, the SPCA said. They are a gelding and a mare.

The SPCA has established a special fund to help with the immediate care of the horses. To donate visit the SPCA's website or http://www.crowdrise.com/paintbucket.
