Mothers of Alleged Molestation Victims Take Stand at Ex-Coach's Hearing

The mothers of two alleged victims of a South Florida youth baseball coach accused of molestation took the stand Thursday at a bond hearing.

David Solomon, 47, is facing multiple charges related to the alleged abuse of two young boys. It's alleged he used his position as a Cooper City Optimist Club coach to get to his victims.

Thursday's bond hearing was held as Solomon seeks his release from jail. After his arrest in July, Solomon's attorney said he was confident Solomon would be cleared.

"Didn't the defendant request for your son to come to his house to try on his uniform?" prosecutors asked one of the mothers.

"Yes," she replied.

Both mothers made it clear that their children are no longer the same. One said her son won't let his father touch him anymore.

The City of Cooper City and the Cooper City Optimist said Solomon passed comprehensive background checks, and added that he was removed from the volunteer coach roster.

The bond hearing is expected to continue Friday.
