Motorist Rams Truck to Stop Fatal Hit-And-Run Driver

Good Samaritan uses his truck to stop a hit-and-run driver

A man is dead and another critically injured after a red-light runner plowed into them as they waited at a bus stop, Miami-Dade Police said.

The driver, whose name has not been identified, then tried to flee, but was blocked after a witness to the accident forced the man off the road with his truck.

The incident happened at 79th Street and Northwest 27th Avenue around 2 p.m.

According to police, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pickup was involved in a collision with another vehicle before colliding with the two pedestrians on the sidewalk. One man died on his way to thte hospital.

The hit-and-run driver didn't stop and made a right at the next corner to make a getaway, but Mark Brown used his truck to ram the driver off the road.

He held the man there until cops arrived.

Police have not released charges, but the driver is expected to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death.
