2 Hospitalized After Alleged Armed Robbery Leads to Multi-Car Crash in Northwest Miami-Dade

Two people were rushed to the hospital following a multi-car crash in Northwest Miami-Dade late Tuesday night that police say started after an alleged armed robbery not far from the scene.

Crews responded to the scene near NW 62nd Street and 7th Avenue, where three cars were involved in the crash just before midnight.

Miami Police confirmed that the crash happened after officers attempted to stop a white Corvette involved in the alleged incident just four blocks south. According to Officer Michael Vega, three men allegedly held a gun to the victim's head before two of the men left in the car and another fled on foot.

Vega said the Corvette then collided with the other two cars involved. The driver was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding police, while the passenger .

The driver of the first car hit by the Corvette was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center where he is now listed in stable condition. The driver of the second car was was taken to North Shore Hospital with minor injuries.

Miami Police say they are hoping the victim of the alleged robbery will come forward and speak with investigators. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers.
