1 Man Rescued, 1 Man Missing Near Hudson Beach: USCG

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officer has located one of two men who went missing near Hudson Beach Tuesday, the U.S. Coast Guard confirms via Twitter.

The USCG and FWC have been searching for the two men who were last seen aboard a 19-foot fishing boat eight miles west of Hudson Beach.

USCG confirms the survivor was pulled from the water and that he was wearing a life jacket. The search continues for the other missing man.

It is not yet known which of the men was rescued and which one remains missing.

An individual contacted Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders just before 2:00 a.m. saying he heard a mayday call of a vessel, named the "Miss Melody," taking water and that the person making the call said they were going down, according to the USCG.

The men have been identified as 29-year-old Anthony Coffey and 17-year-old William Coffey.

Two helicopter crews from USCG Clearwater, and boat rescue crews from the USCG and the FWC are all involved in the active search.
