Music Teacher Guilty of Student Sex Abuse

Sandeep Munshi faces life in prison after jury finds him guilty

A South Florida music teacher was found guilty Monday of sexually abusing his 10-year-old student.

Sandeep Munshi, 49, was convicted on six felony counts, including sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation. He hardly reacted as the jury verdict was read late yesterday in a Broward County courtroom.

Munshi taught music at South Florida Hindu Temple in Southwest Ranches. It was there that prosecutors said he molested the young student, who's now 14, on several occasions.

Munshi, who was arrested in 2008, was once again taken into custody. He faces life in prison when he's sentenced on July 15.
