NBC 6's Jackie Nespral Voted Best TV News Anchor by Miami New Times

Readers of the Miami New Times have chosen NBC 6's Jackie Nespral as the Best TV News Anchor of 2019.

The Emmy Award-winning journalist currently anchors "NBC 6 News" at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. alongside NBC 6 anchor Jawan Strader and chief meteorologist John Morales. Jackie is also the host of "Impact," a locally produced half-hour show dedicated to politics and current events, which airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

"Jackie Nespral gets Miami. Unlike many TV (and print) reporters, she's local — she grew up in Little Havana, earned degrees from the University of Miami and Florida International University, and got her start on Univision's Sábado Gigante before working her way up at the network," the New Times wrote.

Nespral became the first Hispanic-American ever to anchor a network news program when she was tapped for NBC's Weekend Today show in 1992. After commuting between Miami and New York for three years, she chose to continue her career in South Florida with NBC 6.

"Thanks to the readers of Miami New Times for choosing me. It is an honor!" Nespral said.
