Neighbors Heard Gunshots That Killed Two Florida Teens But Didn't Call Police

Two Florida teenagers were fatally shot in an apartment complex but neighbors didn't report the gunshots to police and their bodies weren't discovered until the following day.

The Daytona Beach Police Department identified the victims on Saturday as Trey Ingraham, known for playing high school football in South Florida, and Jordan Paden – both 19 years of age.

Detectives said they identified an acquaintance as a person of interest in the case that started as an armed robbery. Damon Kemp was later arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri said neighbors failed in their duties by not calling police after hearing gunshots Thursday evening.

Their bodies weren't found until Friday night.

WESH reports that Ingraham was well-known in the boxing community and planned on returning to school, likely Bethune-Cookman University. Ingraham was also a member of the football teams at Lantana’s Santaluces Community High School and Boca Raton’s Pope John Paul II High School.

Detectives said Ingraham lived at the apartment where the bodies were found and Paden often stayed there.
