New Footage Shows Driver Accused of Fatal Miami Lakes DUI Crash

Woman struck and killed by car also seen before crash in video from McDonald's

New surveillance footage shows the suspect and victim in an alleged hit-and-run in Miami Lakes shortly before the December crash that left the woman who was visiting from Michigan dead.

The footage, released by prosecutors Wednesday, shows the suspect, 65-year Marcos Gonzalez-Balboa, leaving a parking garage in Coral Gables just before midnight on Dec. 6. He was parked at the garage's exit gate for more than five minutes before he was approached by another driver who appeared to show him where the pay station was, the video shows.

The video shows Gonzalez-Balboa at the pay station for another five minutes before he successfully completed the transaction and got back behind the wheel of his silver Mercedes to leave.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Tatum Holloway was seen ordering food at the drive-thru of a McDonald's in Miami Lakes, according to surveillance footage from the restaurant.

A short time later, Holloway was struck and killed while trying to walk across Fairway Drive in the early morning hours of Dec. 7. Miami-Dade Police say Holloway was struck by the Mercedes driven by Gonzalez-Balboa, who fled the scene.

Gonzalez-Balboa, a local attorney, was arrested in March on charges including vehicular homicide, manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash, driving under the influence and failure to render aid.

An arrest warrant included a receipt from Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables that said Gonzalez-Balboa racked up nearly $300 in drink purchases the night of the crash. Investigators said he also took steps to hide evidence of the crash by replacing the windshield on his car.

After his arrest, Gonzalez-Balboa's attorney said he is not guilty. In a brief statement Wednesday, the attorney said they're still reviewing the small amount of evidence that has been provided to them so far.
