No Bond for Man Accused of Killing Davie Woman

A day after he was arrested and charged with the murder of Jill Su; Dayont’e Resiles was ordered held without bond at his first court appearance.

Davie Police said Su’s body was found in the bathtub of her home clothed in her underwear and with her feet and hands tied up. Police said Su had been stabbed multiple times and that blood believed to have come from Su was found in several parts of the home.

Police said they also found a knife on the doormat of the front door and a green belt just inside the front door. According to the police report, there was also a rear glass door near a larger room in the house that was shattered and drawers in two bedrooms appeared to have been searched by someone.

In court Friday, assistant prosecutor Greg Rossman outlined the evidence police say crime scene technicians were able to find.

“A mixture of his DNA and the victim’s DNA were found on that belt loop that was used, they believe, to bind the victim,” Rossman said. “So there is no explanation for the defendant’s DNA to be inside a home that he does not live in and has no ties to.”

Detectives already had Resiles’ DNA. He’s been arrested previously and is currently accused in four other home burglaries in South Florida. His family was in court Friday, but declined to comment to the media. It’s unknown whether Resiles has an attorney working for him yet.

Police said the murder was highly unusual for the area, because there is virtually no crime in the neighborhood.

“We did a calls-for-service check of this neighborhood, and outside of just common alarms, there has been no crime,” Davie Police Captain Dale Engle said. “We haven’t even had a vehicle burglary in that neighborhood.”

Engle said police don’t know how Resiles got into the gated community or picked Su’ s home to enter, saying right now it just appears to be random. Davie Police said more arrests could be made in the Su murder case.
