No Injuries Reported After School Bus Hits Tree Outside Miramar Home: Police

No one was hurt after a school bus crashed into a tree inside one Miramar neighborhood Thursday morning.

Chopper 6 was over the scene outside a home at 1976 Southwest 163rd Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m.

Eleven students were on the bus but no serious injuries were reported, Miramar Police said.

"They're a little shaken up, but thank goodness they're okay," said Kimberley Russo, who was visiting her sister and heard the crash. Russo, her husband and famly rushed to help the students at the scene off Pembroke Road.

The bus, which was from the City of Pembroke Pines Charter School, suffered damage to the front.

Russo, who took the children inside the nearby home following the crash, said the driver had no idea what happened while telling the family she knew she crashed the bus but didn't know what took place.

Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
