A Miami woman thought she was in the clear after a home improvement project passed inspection, but months later there was one issue she was still dealing with.
Eileen Rosen thought her impact door was installed correctly, but she soon started to hear a faint, but audible, air leak.
"When it is really loud I have to put cotton in my ears to sleep," Rosen said.
She says the noise didn't start until after Protective Shutters and Windows installed an impact sliding glass door in her Miami high-rise apartment. Rosen paid a total of $8,210 for the project and it quickly passed inspection by the City of Miami.
Soon after she says she noticed a noise coming through the door on windy days. She says after waiting for weeks for the company to come back out to fix the issue, she called the door's manufacturer PGT Custom Windows and Doors for help.
She says they suggested the installation company come back out to add a supplemental gutter. After waiting a month, with no work done, she called NBC 6 Responds.
"After NBC 6 Responds called, oh 'we are going to come right away and see what your problem is'," Rosen said.

When we visited Eileen's apartment in March the noise was still there.
"They put up some gutters, but I hear the same thing, I hear the same noise," Rosen said.
We reached out to Protective Shutters and Windows and PGT Custom Windows and Doors.
A representative with PGT's parent company sent us the following statement: "We visited the home of Mrs. Eileen Rosen and took care of all the product related issues. We are working to schedule a follow up meeting with our distributor and installer to make sure any additional issues are completely resolved. This will be scheduled in the next 2 weeks."
Within a week of our visit, PGT representatives along with representatives from Protective Shutters and Windows and the distributor visited Rosen.
"It was missing pieces," Rosen said.
According to Rosen, since our visit, Protective Shutters and Windows has been back out to her apartment to add caulking and a weather strip to the door to help get rid of the noise.
We reached out to Protective Shutters and Windows for comment on Rosen's issue but did not receive a comment.
