Obama Mask Robber Hit Up McDonald's for $1,000: Police

Riviera Beach Police are searching for a man they say robbed the Golden Arches Saturday morning

A robber wearing a mask resembling the visage of President Obama and armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun held up a McDonald’s for about a thousand bucks in cash, Riviera Beach Police said.

After entering the Golden Arches restaurant at 3551 Broadway at about 6:21 a.m., the suspect walked behind the counter, ordered all employees to the back office at gunpoint, and then ordered the manager to take money from a safe and put it in his cloth bag, police said.

The faux commander-in-chief threatened to shoot the McDonald’s workers if they did not remain in the office, police added.

The robber, who also wore white gloves and black clothing, took off on foot heading to the northeast. Police said he is about 6 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds.

An employee who answered the phone at the McDonald’s Wednesday afternoon declined to comment.

“No, not right now. We’re a little busy at the moment,” he said.

Police ask that anyone with information about the case call Detective Francisco Aguirre at 561-845-4123 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
