Two Miami-Dade Police officers were rushed to the hospital after an crash that killed the driver of another vehicle early Tuesday.

Crews responded to the scene near Southwest 260th Street and 147th Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

Officials have not released details on the crash, but did confirm that both officers inside the police car, including the 32-year-old driver who was ejected from the vehicle and the 25-year-old passenger, were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center.

Neither officer was wearing a seatbelt, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Both officers are being treated for what officials describe as life threatning injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was trapped in their car and pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released their identity.
