Two-Vehicle Airport Crash Sends Driver to the Hospital, Authorities Say

A driver was taken to the hospital after the Sunday afternoon crash at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, officials say.

A driver was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after his truck and a charter bus collided at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The man, who was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, was conscious and alert, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright. The bus driver, the only person on the bus, wasn’t hurt, Coleman-Wright said.

The two-vehicle crash happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Perimeter Road, Coleman-Wright said.

The man was freed from his truck by the sheriff’s Technical Rescue Team, she said.

The names of those involved haven’t been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
