1 Killed, 3 Wounded in Liberty City Shooting

Drive-by shooter opens fire outside convenience store

One person was killed and three others wounded after a drive-by shooting in Miami Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. near the City Market Convenience Store at Northwest 62nd Street and 13th Avenue in Liberty City.

Authorities say four people were standing in front of the store when a gunman inside a white Nissan Maxima opened fire, hitting the people and causing a chaotic scene.

Jacorey Nathaveil Aaron, 19, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital after being shot.

Terry K. Brown, 43, was in critical condition and 18-year-old William Bernard Hadley was listed in stable condition.

Collins E. Stanley, Jr.,17, was treated and released.

"People started scattering in different directions, one person took off, and was picked up a couple blocks away. That person was transported to Jackson memorial Hospital with minor injuries," said Lt. Ignatius Carroll, with the Miami Fire Department. "And we had three other people that were in front of a corner store that were transported."

Two others were injured trying to escape the mayhem, police said.

Police are looking for the shooter and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
