A death investigation is underway in Northeast Miami after a shooting left one person dead early Monday.
The incident happened at Northeast 78th Street and Biscayne Blvd at 1:30 in the morning, police said.
Officials said they received several Shot Spotter alerts, which is a notification system that alerts police when gunshots are fired in a specific neighborhood.
When police arrived on scene, they found a man who was shot several times. FIre rescue crews responded, which is when the victim was pronounced dead.
No word on the victim’s identity or what caused this shooting.
