One Shot in Altercation in Ft. Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue teams were responding to a shooting Wednesday morning following an altercation in which one person was shot.

There was some sort of an altercation between two men at 521 SW 22nd Ave. in Ft. Lauderdale, officials say. One of the men threatened to cut the other, and the other responded by saying he had a gun. That's when the first man took out a knife, while the one with the gun pulled it out and shot him.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The shooter was taken into custody.

It is believed that both men will be charged, officials said. It is not yet known what charges will come against either of the men.
