Police say they have found a 28-year-old man from Orlando who had been missing in a mysterious case since Sunday.
Miami Shores Police found Jeremiah Chavez hiding behind a wall after they responded to calls of a disturbance near NE 94th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, taking him into custody and seeking medical attention for him.
Earlier in the day, police released surveillance photos showing Chavez inside of the Braman Cadillac showroom on Sunday around 12 p.m. as he called his sister, urging her to call 911 because he was being chased hours after his friends said he acted abnormally at Club Space on Saturday night.
Chavez's family feared the worst and they drove from Orlando to South Florida to help look for him.
"I’ve tried to be strong but he’s my only son," said his mother, Marie. "They took him out there to celebrate his 28th birthday and for some reason my son was drugged because that’s not my son. My son is a hardworking person.”
Chavez also posted a video on the social media application Snapchat in which he spoke erratically, asking for help. Miami Police said they had information that someone matching his description and clothing was seen in the Miami Shores area around 4 p.m. on Monday.
An investigation continues into the case.
