People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering a reward after a Fort Lauderdale family's dog was killed by someone who doused it with scalding-hot oil.
Craig and Elsa White were at church on March 21 when someone attacked their dog, leaving him with painful third-degree burns. The dog died from its injuries days later.
Police haven't made any arrests but PETA is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
"This beloved dog suffered the agony and terror of dying from burns so severe that his eyes swelled shut and his skin rotted on his body as the result of apparently premeditated cruelty," PETA Senior Director Martin Mersereau said in a statement. "PETA is urging anyone with any information to come forward immediately, before the sadistic culprit or culprits hurt anyone else."
