Two men have been arrested in the murder of a man who was found shot to death inside his Tamarac home, authorities said.
Richard Stewart Andres, 35, and Jonathan Gordon, 31, are both facing premeditated murder charges in the death of 51-year-old Ivan Brandt.
Andres and Gordon were ordered held without bond during an appearance before Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley Monday.
The body of Brandt was discovered after the Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team responded to a report of gunshots at his home in the 7900 block of Northwest 85th Avenue Thursday.
According to an arrest report read by Judge Hurley, Andres had befriended Brandt's ex-girlfriend and learned through her that Brandt kept a safe in his home.
Gordon drove Andres to Brandt's home to rob him and when they went into the house, Brandt was shot at least twice in the head, Hurley said. Despite the wounds, Brandt managed to stab the two suspects, leaving their blood at the scene, Hurley said.
Surveillance cameras at the home captured some of the attack, Hurley said. According to the BSO, the video shows the two suspects force their way into the home and try to restrain Brandt as he resisted.

The video shows the men shooting Brandt, and shows him stabbing them as he struggled to survive, BSO officials said.
By the time the SWAT team arrived, Brandt was pronounced dead at the scene.
While processing the crime scene, detectives discovered a recently printed newspaper article from January 2012 in which Andres was accused of torturing and beating a kitten to death and battering his wife, officials said.
The article led detectives to a hotel in Hollywood, where Brandt had gone looking for his ex-girlfriend, officials said.
The manager of the hotel said Brandt told a clerk his ex-girlfriend was being held against her will by Andres, who was "pimping her out," officials said.
Brandt's ex-girlfriend was with Andres when he was arrested Saturday night. She admitted to telling Andres that Brandt kept safes full of cash in his home, officials said.
Gordon, whose car was captured on video leaving the scene, was arrested Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, officials said.
