Pair Arrested in Woman's Murder at Oakland Park Motel: BSO

A man and woman have been arrested in the killing of a woman whose body was found in an Oakland Park motel last month.

Schenieder Joseph, 27, and Lakeshia Thomas, 32, were arrested Wednesday in the murder of 30-year-old Jasmin Nealy, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Joseph and Thomas were both being held without bond Thursday, jail records showed. It's unknown if they've hired attorneys.

Authorities said Nealy's body was found by housekeeping staff in a room at the Days Inn at 1595 W. Oakland Park Boulevard the afternoon of July 25.

Nealy's body was found in a pool of blood. She had been shot several hours before, officials said.

Officials said Nealy had been communicating with Joseph through texts and they had arranged to meet at the hotel that morning. Joseph was recorded by the motel's security cameras as he walked through the parking lot, authorities said.

Thomas was also caught on surveillance cameras on a motel elevator, officials said. They were in the room for less than a minute before they fled together, officials said.

Authorities didn't release a motive in the killing. They're still looking for information and are asking anyone with info to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
