Palm Beach School District Workers Face Suspension For Noose

The three men are facing a 10-day suspension that could begin April 13

The Palm Beach County School Board is set to vote on the suspension of three district members accused of leaving a noose by a time clock, The Palm Beach Post reported.

Electrician Keith Sills, electronic equipment foreman Gerald Workman and electrical equipment technician Raymond Nichols all face a 10-day suspension, according to the newspaper. Workman would also be demoted.

An employee found the noose hanging by the clock in November, according to a school district report. The incident was investigated and a district human relations official reviewed surveillance video that showed the men involved.

Nichols admitted to tying the noose and declined to comment, the newspaper said.

The school board will vote Wednesday on whether to suspend them.

The suspensions if approved would be effective April 13, but the men could appeal.
